Hey there!

This is Katie with a very hateful thought of the day.

I hate industrious early morning yard-working neighbors.

8 a.m. on a Saturday morning is unacceptable for anything but coffee and puppy snuggles.

Maybe even a husband snuggle if you're so inclined.

However, if you feel the need to fire up your lawnmower at 8 a.m.,

take a tip from me and roll it over yourself.

There's no reason you can't respect your sleepy-eyed neighbors

and wait until at least 9.30 to put your leaf blower into action.

The leaves aren't going anywhere and neither should you.

I hate noisy early rising neighbors.

And you, I hate you too!

How do you feel about snowblowers?

That's different.

It is.

Because you're trying to get out.

Because it's snow and not leaves.

Well, but you're trying to get out.

Like, there's a purpose to a snowblower.

Yeah.

At 8 o'clock in the morning, you're probably trying to go somewhere.

The leaf blower is like elective cosmetic surgery.

Exactly.

Okay.

Welcome, everybody, to...

The leaf blower is like elective cosmetic surgery. Exactly. Okay. Welcome, everybody, to... You always wonder how long it is... An eye lift is not brain surgery. You always wonder how long it is before we bring up our favorite topic, elective cosmetic surgery. Hey! You don't think it's God that made me look like this? It was hard work. It was. I still have 10 more payments. This nose is not even mine yet. Not yet. I financed it. It is the fourth episode of Cake and Cookies, the Rob and Katie Show. I'm Rob Spiewak. And I'm Katie Powers. Now, you know every week... Every single time. I'm going to say that, and you're going to not have to be drinking beer. I will try. All right. Okay. And you can find us, social media, by going to facebook.com slash robandkatie. That's R-O-B-B-A-N-D-K-A-T-I-E. Yes. Our Twitter handle is at robandkatie. And this is the best thing. Yes. Our R-S-S feed. Go for it, Rob! Okay. H-T-T-P colon slash slash michomarishow.com slash category slash cake hyphen and hyphen cookies slash feed slash. Okay. So that's, you know, real easy for people to write down and remember. Well, no. I'll say it again slower. No, please don't. H-double P. No. H-double T-P dot dot slash slash michomarishow full stop com. It's the R-S-S feed. Everyone needs it. People are writing. They're saying, hey. Can I read it then? Yeah, please. All right. Do you want the music? Yes. I do. I like the music. This is our R-S-S feed music. H-T-T-P colon slash slash michomarishow.com slash category slash cake hyphen and hyphen! Cookies slash feed slash. Well, that was so much better. R-S-S, as you know, means rich site summary. You didn't know that. No, it's just the top of mind. Neither of us knew that. Originally, it was called the RDF site summary and is oftentimes dubbed really simple syndication. Are you reading? You're reading. No, no. It uses a family of standard WebView formulas. This is what I don't like about our setup. I can't see. You have a giant screen in front of you and I can't see it. I can kind of see it out of the corner of my eye and I believe you have Wikipedia. Yeah, I do. I'll close it. Okay. But the RSS feed, people have asked for it. A lot of people have asked for it. You're Greg Cox's. You're Adam Sternberg's. He has asked a few times. Yeah, he has. Well, and you know what? He's actually gotten to a point where he's distributing the RSS feed. I noticed that on the... So we thank you, Adam. Thank you, Adam Sternberg. Truly a mitzvah. You are... You're a good boy. He's a nice boy. He's a nice boy. Hands it out. And you know what? I need a mitzvah in my life because, as you know, there was just an attempted murder in my home. Yeah. We've been trying, as we always do, for about a couple hours to get this show started. Yep. And we wanted to roll tape at about 5.30. It is now 7.13. And we finally were rolling some tape. Yeah. And Julia comes down and presents herself in front of me. There was tood. Oh, God. A lot of tood. There was a little tood. I won't say a lot of tood because I possess way more tood than that. I know where the root of the tood is, is the fact that today Robert had his playoff basketball game. His team won and advances to the second round of the playoffs. That's awesome. I was so stoked to hear about that. But she made the honor roll. And she made the honor roll. But you see, yesterday was sort of a Julia day. Yes. And today's a Robert day. Oh, I see. So today she's probably, you know. Coming down off her mountain. Got a little bit of tood in that tote bag over her shoulder. And are you familiar with the great Japanese movie Rashomon? I'm not. And you will be actually, sitcoms use this device a lot. But Rashomon was the first movie to tell the same story several times from several characters' viewpoint. Oh, okay. I know they use it on the Dick Van Dyke show. A great use of it. Where in one of them he's screaming at the Ottoman. And another one. Yes. We just started the show. Let's try not to lose the listeners at like five minutes in. Well, you know what? The people that like the Dick Van Dyke show, their moments are numbered. All four. On this mortal plane. So let's move it up front. But so what I got from Julia was. Oh, oh. I get what you're getting at. Give her a second. She'll come around. That's right. You had two conflicting points of. Precisely. Points of the story. Yeah. Two different versions of the same story. I see. So you saw Tootie Julia come down. And she says. She occasionally appeared on Facts of Life. Yes. Tootie Julia. She had roller skates. By the time Mrs. Garrett opened up her gourmet store, Tootie Julia was no longer on the show. No longer. She was replaced with George Clooney. Yes, she was. Yes. Man, that was a great show. So Judy Tootie. Judy Tootie. Judy Tootie. Judy Tootie. Judy Tootie. Las Vegas Great. Las Vegas Great. Swear to God. We can't. So. You're going to have to cut this out. No, no. It's fine. So Paula Poundstone comes down. And says to me. Her shoulder pads were huge. And it turns my three letter name into four syllables and says, dad. I said, yes. And correct me if I'm wrong because you saw this whole thing go down. I saw it go down. So Judy Tootie comes down and she says, dad. I'd like to point out. Yes. We're sober. Yeah, we are. I know. She's Tootie Nulia. Tony Nulia comes down. Tony Danza. Tony Danza comes down and says, dad. I said, yes. And then. Like Simon. Yeah, exactly. The game we have to repeat. The game we have to. And she says nothing. We're so hip enough to date, Rob. Okay. And later on, guys, remember 10th caller wins a set of pickup sticks. So she comes down and presents herself and addresses me and then just says nothing. And I said, there was a little hip sticking out action too. Oh, I know. And also what we heard was the coming down the steps. Boom, boom, boom, boom. Yeah, there was a. She wasn't sneaking up. No, there was presence in the stair pounding. So I said, yes. Because I already said to them, we're going to go downstairs and make show business. So don't interrupt us unless it's important. And she said, Robert's on the floor and he says he can't get up because I. And this is when it becomes Tootie Julia. She says, I was making peanut butter cookies to surprise you. And. For after dinner. And Robert began to mix the cookie dough with his fingers. She's such a bus thrower under her. By the way. Yes. Might not have a cookie now. No, I know. I know. These taste like basketball. These taste like gymnasium. When was the last time you washed your hands? More like gymnasium yuck. Yuck. Am I right? So he said, well, Robert decided to mix it with his hands. Dad. There are a lot of extra syllables. And I don't think she's Southern. And he said he slipped. This is where her story sort of falls to the ground as well as Robert. He slipped and fell, says his ankle hurts and can't get up because his hands are greasy from playing with the peanut butter. I said, well, can you help him up? And she says, he's not going to accept my help. He doesn't want my help. He doesn't want my help. Yeah. Very proud. Almost like an 80-year-old grandmother. Or a new amputee. He just didn't want her help. He doesn't want my help. Right. So I went upstairs and... Oh, actually, you know what? Can I try to do it in Judy Tulia? Yeah, please do it. He doesn't want my help. Oh, God. Oh, God. That's it. Thank you. So I go up. And Julia's story is holding together for the first part because Robert is on the floor. Oh, is the boy okay? He seems to be fine. All right. And I said, what happened? Because as a parent for the past 13 years of one kid and the past 11 years of two, this is one of the greatest questions you can ask. What happened? Because you never know exactly. What happened? What happened? And always with the upside downs, like you're holding upside down hands like you're holding invisible gloves. Melons. What happened? What happened? And this is when Robert said it. He said, well, Julia pulled a knife on me. What? Oh, my God. I swear to God. I swear to God. Wait a minute. She's making peanut butter cookies. Why does she have a knife? I know. Well, I mean, well, why would she pull it on her brother? I don't know. Let me. I don't have children. I don't know the right questions to ask. In between the ingredients, she's working out some blocking for West Side Story. She's in Greece. I know. But she's always thinking ahead. The T-Birds. That's right. So, Robert, I said, why did she pull a knife on you? And right now, I have to understand, Robert is not a little kid anymore. He's probably nearly five feet tall. He's also on the floor. And he's gangly. But he's propped up in the corner against the cabinets, splayed because he's fallen and his ankle hurts. And my question is not getting up. It's why did she pull a knife on you? What did you do? And well, i
