Christmas on a Kwanzaa is a very special time of year, filled with happiness and twinkly lights. Even if things may not seem so wonderful for you, take a deep breath and enjoy the show. Just do what you gotta to get through the holidays, whether it's sneaking a smoke out back, happily criticizing somebody's Christmas lights, or having an extra bump of wine. And if you need to hate anything this holiday, make it eggnog. It's like drinking sour pancake batter. I hate eggnog. And you, have a happy holiday too! I have tried to like eggnog. It's gross. My entire life. I can't do it. Mm-mm. Have you already plugged in a record? Are we beginning? It's a gimmick show. Yes. But although you were much more hated than I am, you are not the most hated. Really? Yeah. Those ugly websites, I try to stay away from them. I will not go back. So it is indeed Christmas. I may have shed a tear. Yeah. Were you drinking? No. Normally I find my way to those websites when I've had a few. I was... Those ugly, horrible websites. Stone cold, which I really, I don't know, might have made it... Just don't do that. I want to thank all the people that take the time to care that much. Well, they clearly listen. They do. They listen really hard. It's a sad existence to have that much hate in your heart. So before we get to your questions and your letters, there is one thing I wanted to mention is that the Christmas holidays are certainly here. And twice in the past two days, I've been overcome with a little bit of sadness. I have that problem around this time of year as well. You get very emotional. And I think you get more close with... I miss people. Yeah. And I was doing my Christmas cards. And as I was going through my address list... Here. Cheers to all those people. I had to delete some names. Family members, friends that, you know, we lost through the year. And it sucks. It truly sucks. And it's this time of year that you really miss them. And then again today, I was at Costco to buy my turkey. My toiki. Because you do turkey and stuffing at Christmas. It's always been a family tradition. Carrie is not a fan of turkey. She's a ham. We're a ham family. She's a ham family. We're a ham family. She's a fam hamly. And she's okay with it because of the fact that I make a wonderful turkey stuffing. So that balances out. And we'll get a ham for New Year's. Okay, okay. So you don't do like corned beef and cabbage on New Year's? No, no. Ham and scalloped potatoes and black-eyed peas for New Year's. Okay. You know, you're relatively Southern. I'm surprised you don't do black-eyed peas. Well, black-eyed peas, but you got to do the cabbage. Sauerkraut sometimes. That's cabbage. That is cabbage. Okay. But we do ham, scalloped potatoes, and the black-eyed peas. Sometimes if we would go to, you know Johnny Midnight? John Midnight? I do. His mother does the most marvelous thing, which is sauerkraut and pork and dumplings for New Year's Day. Oh. And I always associate that meal with a wicked hangover because it was New Year's Day. It's true. But it's a great cure for it. But as I was buying my turkey, it came on to me like a wave is that how much I missed Big Daddy, my grandfather, because he was the guy that would cook the turkey. He's the guy that taught me how to make the stuffing. He was the guy that would take care of it. Even when he was too old to do it and I was doing it, I always kept him abreast, informed of the whole thing. And as I was buying the turkey and choosing the weight, I just thought, God, this would be a great time to grab my phone and call him. So I came home and I posted on Facebook. I said, hey, Big Daddy, 21-pound butterball. Got it. That's so sweet. I just really wanted to get it off my chest. I felt a void at that point. And so you know what? It's going to be okay. Christmas is the best time of year. I usually, it's pretty much every year, I have a really big down after Thanksgiving. Right. And then I sort of ramp back up about a week before Christmas. It gets me after New Year's. And then I'll be down, you know, for a month or so. Well, that's pretty normal. A lot of people in January, because everything's done. Yep. And it's just sort of that, the winter doldrums like really hit you. There's like nothing. Yeah. But it is something like, I actually sort of brought it up to you last week, but it is something that I want people to think about. And people to know that, you know, everybody sort of goes through this at some point. And you're not alone. Right. And, you know, just know that you're not alone. And even though it was sad, if this makes any sense at all, it was sadness rooted in something so happy. Yeah. But it's tough. It is. And I can only imagine if someone didn't have a great supportive family structure, which I am tremendously blessed to have. I have kids that talk to me five days out of seven. I've got a wife that is extraordinarily fond of many of my qualities. No. You know, Carrie is the grea
