Everybody panic and close down the schools because we could get anywhere from two to six inches. Ask any reasonable woman if there is a difference between two and six inches and she'll tell you to find a new job, Mr. Weatherman. And this is, as I said, episode two of Cake and Cookies, a podcast offered on a weekly basis to make you feel a little better. Can we call it episode duh? Episode duh? Episode duh. More like, for us, probably episode duh. Episode duh. A weekly basis to make you feel a little better about your life on a big day. We're actually recording this on February 9th, 2014. And I, we did not say we're going to mention this, but I'm going to. I'm jacked because it's the 50th anniversary of the Beatles appearing on Ed Sullivan. Absolutely. And that's a big day in American music history. Everything changed. Everything changed. Everything changed. Just in a nutshell, what happened is that America was essentially still in mourning from the assassination of President Kennedy. And these guys, these four boys from Liverpool, and tonight you'll be twice be entertained by them. They came on the Ed Sullivan show and they say it's one of the only times in show business history that the hype was exceeded by the actual event. And that the next day, everything was different. People were combing their hair different. People were dressing different. People were buying guitars. And music was forever changed. So I'll say thank you to Ed Sullivan. I'll say thank you to the Beatles because it's a big deal. But I mean, even more so than that, as you sort of alluded to, it kind of ended that mourning period. It was something new and fresh. It gave people, it took their minds off of it. It really did. It did. Now, we're doing something this week that I'm actually going to be a part of. I didn't tell you this. I'm taking Julia to a concert. Oh yeah? Because the Beatles... Does she, okay, does she know? She chose. She chose to come along. It was her choice to come with me. After the Beatles did the Ed Sullivan show on February 9th, the next day, on the 10th, they took a train to Quizford. Katie, do you know where? Took a train to Washington, D.C. Clarksville. They did not know. It was the last one. It was the last one. The Beatles got on a train, they came to Washington, D.C., and they did their first actual concert on American soil at the Washington, D.C. Convention Center. And on Tuesday, 50 years to the minute after that concert, they're going to be doing a Beatles lookalike band doing the same songs on that stage. Oh no, that's fun. Isn't that neat? That is really, really neat. That's cool. And I went to the kids and I said, guys, listen, on Tuesday, 50 years to the day, they're going to be doing a Beatles concert in Washington, D.C. Who wants to... And Robert said, not me! Not it! Not it! You made me go to Paul McCartney. Make the girl do it. And actually, Julia said she'd like to go, so she's going to actually blow off her rehearsal that day and we're going to go to D.C. And it turns out Tony Perkins will be covering it for Channel 5. Oh, that's cool. So get a chance to see Tony and then get a chance to see this concert, so I'm pretty stoked about it. Oh, that's really cool. You're going to have such a good time. Hope so, hope so. By the way, Dan and I want to come see Julia perform in Grease. Oh, I hope you do. Yeah. She's going to be something. She is something. If she's talking to us at that point. Well, yeah, it's going to be a quiet ride to D.C. Hopefully we can rebuild the relationship. A lot of teenage angst going on in my house today. And it's because Dan came over. It's not because Dan came over. It's in spite of that. I told you he was younger. I thought Dan would fix everything. No. For all you people that have been excited about the possibility of some sort of spinoff show with the spouses, Dan and Carrie are actually sitting in the Rob Radio World Broadcast Headquarters. You live for this. We had actually a funny exchange on text this week when I said, we'll meet, we'll do it about two on Sunday and make sure that you can bring fan. And it was... I know. It was like, are you hot? I kind of have like, we have this like really large portable air conditioner. Like the air went out sometime last summer. It's really heavy, but maybe Dan can bring it over. Oh, he meant Dan. I meant Dan. I did. Yeah. The autocorrect got me. It all sort of came back together for me, but yeah, it was, damn that autocorrect. You crazy autocorrect. So yeah, but you know, I wouldn't put it past that I've not been getting the best sleep lately. No, you look, seriously. Yeah. You don't look good, Rob. Thank you. You look exhausted. Well, it's hard to sleep with someone extra in the bed. Excuse me? Yes. You know, Carrie and I have been sharing the marital bed for a long time and even before marriage. How long have you guys been married? Uh, 17 years in October. Yeah. October will be 17 years. When's your anniversary? October 12th. Oh. Cayumus Day. Ours is October 20th. That's right. That's right. And that'll be for you two years? Yeah. That's cute. I know. It's adorable. How long? But you've been together longer than that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Carrie and I started dating 21 years ago. 93? Yeah, sure. She says whatever. I don't know. She doesn't know. She doesn't. Her date is probably different than your date. Yeah, it probably is. It probably is. Rob's like, from the moment I saw her, I knew it was it and that was it. And Carrie's like, hmm, took me about a year and a half. And that's after the wedding. So we do the best we can. You know, we've been married for quite some time. And yes, we have survived all the slings and arrows that come with it. But one of the toughest things is our dog, Linus. We've talked about him in the past, but we got him when he was, I think, eight weeks old. Okay, so he was eight weeks old. That's still like the gotta take him out in the middle of the night. They're still babies. Yeah, he's a little, little guy. Yeah. Fluffy and soft. And we said, you know what, maybe the easiest thing would be just to start. We'll let him sleep in bed with us at night. Isn't it that we got Presley when she was six weeks old and we tried to do the crate training thing with the crate beside the bed and it got to the point where Dan would lay in the floor to get her to go to sleep. I would lay on the edge of the bed with my fingers through the crate. Oh, you see, at that point, you're not doing yourself any good. You're not doing the dog any good. No, it lasted a week. Yeah. And then I was like, can I just snuggle her all night? Yep. And I just, oh, just a warm little tiny thing. And they're little and they're cute then. Oh, they're so cute. They don't take up any space at all. They take up a lot more and then you get the second one and now we had to buy a bigger bed. You see, it might have been a better thought to not let them in the bed and keep the old bed. That's what some people say. See, we've kept the same bed but the dog is no longer 10 pounds. No. The dog is now 50 pounds. He's not a big dog. He is just this side of being a big dog. I think, we thought he was going to be bigger. We thought he was going to be like German Shepherd big. No, no, no, no, no. Well, his mom was. He's just like a medium dog. But he can take up a lot of space and you know what he loves to do? Loves to stretch because here it is. It's a nice, a full fat year after we've gotten this dog and he's almost full grown and he is right between Carrie and me always. And boy, when we start to go up to bed in the middle of the, at nighttime, he knows it and he's just, and he, you know, ba-dum, ba-dum, ba-dum, ba-dum, boom! And he lands and there he is. And if perhaps Carrie has gone to bed before me, I'll go up and it'll be dark and obviously, you know, you can't see anything in the bedroom, but I'll hear. And that's him wagging his tail because he sees me. He sees me come in and I can't see a thing. I might be able to like, if the light cat
