Moisturizant. But my lips hurt real bad. All right. Don't yet. Time and place. I'm so excited. I know. Here we go. Hey, it's Dude Walker. Mike O'Mara. Radio Entertainment. Cake and cookies. Rob and Katie. It's the Rob and Katie Show. It's your home for muscle relaxants. And Palo Dent. Palo Dent. Good afternoon, friend. Good afternoon. It was supposed to be morning. Yes. But I'm too stupid. No, it's not you. It's your smart machine. No, I live in a world of a smartphone and a stupid computer. And I just couldn't Skype today. Couldn't seem to do it. I don't know, Mr. Hand. I just couldn't make it on time. When in fact, I was actually in place ahead of time. So at what point in language do you think nouns became verbs? Like what do you mean? I think it was probably with Google. That's a pretty good one. Yeah, I would think that might be the first. But I think. Because Skype is a thing, but we call it. Yeah, did you Skype me? Yeah. Action verb. Verb. It's what's happening. As you remember from the Schoolhouse Rock. And also interjections. Yeah, what's your function? Well, I'll tell you what's not functioning with Skype. I just couldn't make it work. And I had. First of all, I don't know why my computer stopped signing in on its own. Because it's always done that. I signed it a password a million years ago and that was fine. And then you suggested a password that I use all the time. And I did not reply to that text because it's hurtful. Why is it hurtful? It's hurtful because. That you're predictable? Yes. And you know what? Accessible. You have the same password for everything. I know. I know. We're not going to say what it is. No, of course not. Because it's like. That's like. That's your safe word. But. Lasagna. But. Know this. When you are predictable and you know it. There's very few things as hurtful as someone calling you out on it. And by the way, it wasn't the password. Because it's not long enough. It needs a capital on a number. Probably something similar. No, it's one of the other three passwords that I use. If Matt Bloom, who is literally a security expert, is listening to this, he's pulling out his hair because he knows that I am not big on computer security. I mean, he's the kind of guy that when he's assigning me a password, just to make it tough, he'll take an E and turn it into a three. Just to screw. I figured he'd like. He probably has an app that's like a random password generator. I'm not even sure that's good enough for him. I hate those. Yeah. Because there's probably an app that can guess your password then. So he has to outwit them, outthink them and outlast them. He is like. His computer stuff should be hosted by Jeff Probst. He is a survivor. Yeah. So anyway, I got in. And the weird thing is, is my computer is still telling me that I'm offline. That's really weird. And yet we speak. Here we are. Ta-da. You're offline too, I think, according to my computer. No, I'm green. Maybe you need hydration. Hulk, stop. So. You won't like me when I'm angry. No, you don't use the Hulk voice when you say that because then you're already angry. Oh, that's right. Oh, that's right. Hey, Hulk is another. You won't like me when I'm angry. Hi, I'm David Banner or Bruce Banner in the comic books. I think that maybe the problem has to do with my podcast adventure I took earlier in the week. What was that? Now, I mentioned this a little on the O'Mara show. What? What? Are you cheating on me? No, no. He's cheating on you. No, no. I'm not cheating. I actually picked up a gig and it was it made me a little dough. A little dough. Dough a deer. Is it? Is it? I didn't host. I was not on my recurring. No, no. It's not. Oh, just a one time thing. A one time thing. And I did not. I was not. Remember when we started the podcast and we got to have one podcast that we could cheat on and there was no freebie. The freebie, right. No, this was a rather random thing and I didn't host or anything. I just engineered for somebody. Okay. The Gilbert Gottfried podcast. Oh, cool. Because he was he in town and they use a studio or something? No, it's even more weird than that. There's a guy and you would know him if you saw him. His name is Eddie Deason. He was the nerd in Greece. He played Eugene in Greece. Oh, yeah. Yeah. He was also in the Ferris wheel in 1941. I have to tell you this. I'm not shocked that he and Gilbert Gottfried. Yeah. Somehow got along, right? Yeah. So and he was I mean, he's worked with a lot of people. This guy, I mean, because, you know, 1941, that's a Spielberg movie. So he worked with John Belushi and Steven Spielberg and all the people in that movie. He was in War Games, which was a big deal. Greece, one of the biggest movies of biggest musicals of all times and its 40th anniversary. And he was recently a voice in the Polar Express that will recently 10 years within the last 10 years, the Christmas movie. So I thought that was you ringing your bell. It's I'm getting a text. You told me I wasn't allowed to. I know. I know. I'm sorry. I should have silenced my phone. Bad podcaster. So I'm trying to book Gilbert to do the Mike O'Mara show because he has that documentary that's on Hulu called Gilbert and working on. And this I mean, this goes back like six months back to the summer. And we keep postponing and postponing and postponing. And so I'm. I thought he did the show. No, he did. This is a Christmas time. So you're giving me the backstory. Here's the backstory. So I'm actually writing another email saying, hey, we'd really like to get Gilbert on before the end of the year. This is in December. And at that time, I'm typing this email. I get a pop up on my computer screen email from Derek Godfrey, which is his wife while I'm doing it. And I say, hey, hey, how can you how can you answer an email that I haven't sent yet? That's not right. Because your security sucks. That's right. Because she knows my passwords. All three of them. So I click it and I open it. And it turns out what happens is that this guy, Eddie Deason, lives in Maryland and they want to do an interview with him. And they're based in New York. And so to play an away game, essentially what they need is someone to go and record him at his place of residence while they Skype. So they see each other. But the actual voice that you'll hear will be recorded, as they say, natively, because I will. So like the way we do our show. Well, no, not like the way we do our show. It would be like if you recorded yourself in Savannah and then we put the two tapes together. Oh, OK. But what's coming very clear, becoming very clear right now is that obviously we don't care that much. So I say, yes, of course, I'll do it. And I pack up a couple of digital recorders and a couple of microphones. One is a primary. One's a backup. I have to borrow Robert's laptop for Skype because I don't have a laptop. Oh, so I have an iPad as a backup for Skype. But they want a laptop. That's the way to go. Yes. So I borrow Robert's and he has to install Skype on that. And my feeling is this. My feeling is that in the putting my account on Robert's laptop, it's probably screwed it up somehow. It probably logged you out of. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So I hopped. And then you couldn't remember your password. So I reset it to the new magical fourth password, which involves a capital letter and a number. So watch out, Internet criminals, criminals, criminals. I hate criminals. I hate criminals. Criminimals. Criminimals. So I hop in the car and I go to his place. He's in, I would say, the best way to describe it, Western Maryland. It's a hike. It's a two hour drive. All right. Yikes. And when I get there, wouldn't you know it? He doesn't live in a Hollywood hill styled mansion, nor a symbol buggalo or anything. He lives in a hotel. Wait, what? He lives in a hotel. Like an apartment building. It's like an apartment building, but it's a hotel. It is literally downtown in the city and it is a hotel like you would go to with an elevator and a front desk. And I saw an exercise room. Don't know if there's a swimming pool, but I was given his room number and I went up there and there's two double beds, you know, desk, refrigerator, a view of the train tracks. And it's just a little weird. Yes. Thank you. Is this a thing? I don't know. You know, we have an intern. Like, I feel like I could, like, maybe, like, random New Yorkers. But he's obviously been here for a while because he has, like, pictures hanging on the wall. Oh. A lot of notebooks. He's a note taker. He's a note taker. He writes longhand. He's not much on computers. He's the kind of guy that types a lot in all capitals. Ah. With two fingers? I don't know. I don't know. A lot of canned foods around. Mm-hmm. Because there's really not much opportunity to cook, I suppose. I think he had a microwave. And so it was just that. Was it like a penthouse? It was on the top floor. But it was not like a penthouse. No. Okay. Hotel or motel? Oh, definitely a hotel. It opened to an enclosed hallway with carpet. Okay. Okay. And it was a name. What kind of carpet? The loops were small. Okay. It was not a shag carpet. Okay. I got there. Hotel that you stayed? Did you stay? Oh, no. That was like a two-hour drive. No, no. I had no intention of staying. I knew it was back home to bed afterwards. It was relatively early. It was six o'clock start time. Did you take a cooler so you could pick up Kentucky Fried Chicken? There was no KFC there. Yes, there is. Are you looking? No, I know the place. Okay. Well, no. I did not bring a cooler. You should have. Well, I guess you're right. But hindsight is always 20-20, isn't it, Katie? You should just keep one in your car. Next time for certain. Faux show. Sizzle. What's your favorite thing at the KFC? The chicken itself. Not extra crispy. Just the regular original recipe. My least favorite thing at KFC. I'm OG KFC. Old girl? No. The original Gangsta. Oh. What? What? Ask me my least favorite thing about KFC. What's your least favorite thing about KFC? Nice cue pickup. I don't like the new R
