Hi there!

This is Katie with a very hateful thought of the day.

I hate stepping into a running shower only to find I'm out of soap.

It leaves you with very few options if you live with somebody.

Then you're left only to bellow for help.

Carrie!

If you're without help, do you wash everything with shampoo?

Or do you chance a squeaky wet floor fall as you splash water everywhere in a desperate, wet, cold, naked search for soap?

I don't know about you, but cold and wet and naked searching for anything is a very vulnerable feeling.

I hate vulnerable.

And I really hate the missing shower soap conundrum.

I don't know about you, but cold and wet and naked searching for anything is a very vulnerable feeling. I hate vulnerable. And I really hate the missing shower soap conundrum. Especially because soap on a rope seems silly if you aren't in prison. I hate soap on a rope. And you, I hate you too. Cake and cookies. Rob and Katie. It's the Rob and Katie Show. All I know is this. I'm going to be very careful today. I am mad at you. Why? Because you made me record that like a couple of times and then what, what, what, what, what did you do? You messed up. How? You know how. No, I have done that every time. No, you haven't. That's a big fat lie. I multi-track it. You cut that music out early and you know it. No, I didn't. Yes, you did. That's how I've done it every time. Lies. This is why I told you, Dan, this is why I have to be careful today. I'm in a, I'm in a, a land, a field of landmines here. This is, I'm in a minefield, a field of landmines. I like to use extra words when I can. Mm-hmm. I did it the same way I always do it. I think you're tired. Tired of certain things. That's hurtful. Well, we've been trying to get started for a while. I'm just glad we've got a head of steam going. Mm-hmm. You know what it is? I'm having a bad day. It's the 12th show. It is. One, two. It's the dozen cousin. It's the dozen cousin. And it is the cake and the cookies with the Rob and the crispy Katie. I'm a little bit salty today. Yay. Who ordered the extra crispy? Oh, man. What I wouldn't give for like some extra crispy fried chicken. Oh, you got some, you got so many things going on. But let me just start by saying, uh, this is Cake and Cookies, the podcast to show you on a weekly basis that actually in comparison, your life isn't so bad. No, your life is way better than ours right now. And we want to say thank you to Mike O'Mara, Oscar Santana, everyone at More Broadcasting. Thank you to Tony Bloom. Matt Bloom. Nice boy that Tony Bloom. Absolutely. And of course, the brilliant Steve Bridges, who has us on the air on the mighty 1630. Casey JJ. So yeah, um, you have just had yourself a day. I'm fantastic. Are you? Yes. I did my radio show last night. Oh, your radio show last night was great. It was the, uh. It led into like the best evening. And maybe that's why I'm so salt. No, no, no. Everything's gone wrong for me today. So it's all, it's an absolutely a today thing. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Today. Today. Um, but your show last night was awesome. You are very kind to say so. It had been since Christmas. And I mentioned this when I went into my soundboard to find all the elements I use when I do the Rob Spiewicz show, the boss radio music spectacular, the spin-tacular, don't you know? I went in and all the elements were still Christmas related. That's not good. And I said, oh my God, that's right. They fired me on like December 26th. I gotta update this. So I got to get all those out of there, but it was just terrific. Uh, the people in the chat room and, uh, Steve was kind enough to actually board up on that end for a couple hours for me. That's awesome. General manager Tom Suter stayed in the chat room for the entire four hours. I would have joined the chat room. Now, why weren't you in the chat room? Because we have this little, like Bose, uh, mini sound system. Yes. But when you hold it, it looks full size. It's full size. Yeah. It's damn it, Rob. That you can eat. I want you to hear when you can hear it in her voice. She's had a bad day. You can hear it in her voice. How? It's a joke. You've been talking about how salty you are. And you sound like Uncle Cartoon. No. So we have this little, this, and it's the best thing ever. It's this little tiny, like Bose mini sound system. And I would say it's about the size of, um, a beer bottle, the wide part of it. Yeah. Um, but just filled out and it runs through like Bluetooth or you can like plug in your iPod or whatever. But you can actually use the, the iPod, your music streaming machine to shoot it using Bluetooth right into it. It doesn't even have to be connected. No. And the, the little Bose mini thing, it doesn't have to be connected. Like it doesn't have to be plugged in that you can like carry it around with you. Wow. Yeah. So, and it sounds phenomenal. Wow. So I was running this show through my phone. Right. Which became kind of a problem because I wanted to text people. Oh, and when you go out of the window that's streaming KCJJ. Well, I have an older phone. Right. And I couldn't do, I absolutely, I didn't even want to move my phone. That's how old my phone is. I couldn't, I couldn't like touch it. It's an iPhone. Yeah. It's an earlier model. What, what model is it? It's a four. How quaint. Mm-hmm. Yeah. I think I saw one of those in an Andy Hardy movie. So it, it doesn't do as much. Right. I understand. So I was trying not to touch it. But you know, it's robust enough that you can move it. Well, no, but I, I have to, in order to like stream anything or, or do anything continuously, I have to keep it plugged in. Okay. Otherwise. It's getting older. It's, yeah. Like, like it's mama. Yeah. Well, none of us are getting any younger. No. Now you're probably due for an upgrade. Oh, oh yeah. Yeah. I just don't like getting new phones. I don't like, I don't like shopping. Oh, it's so easy though. I hate shopping. Oh, but it's so easy. Apple, Apple wants your money really bad. They make it easy. Don't know that I want one. And. Oh, are you going to get the thing that looks like a, like a, like an iPad? It's the Samsung, whatever. Oh yeah. Cause that's going to fit in my pocket. Well, you can maybe put a strap on it and make it look like a purse. Right. That'll work. Download a picture of buckles. And when people see it, it'll look like a purse. It'll be perfect. Can you download pictures of buckles? I can make, of course. Of course you can. And I can like color coordinate it for every outfit. Exactly. Cause that's who I am. Yeah. You're just like the girls in the show. Clueless. Not show. Movie. It's a movie. It's not really a show. As if. Yeah, precisely. You're happy with your phone. It does what you need. I'm not happy with it at all. Well, you're not happy with anything today. Like change and shopping. I hate both of those things. Okay. Okay. So I wasn't touching my phone, but I'm like. What do you hate the most? Shopping? Change? Or your phone? Probably in order of. No, just which do you hate the most? Shopping. Okay. Then. Cause if you hated the phone the most. No, that's number three. No, no, no, no. Change is number three. I don't really care about change. As long as it doesn't involve shopping. What if they made all the stores at Fair Oaks Mall in different places? That would be changing and shopping. Oh God. Then would it be number one? Um. That's just a little too much for me to wrap my head around. I understand. Especially today. Yeah. Yeah. She's had herself a day. I've had myself a day. Well, I'm sorry to hear that. But you have apparently been having yourself some nights. Well. That way. That might have come out a little differently. No, it's fine. I tried to segue. You did. It was a wonderful try. It was a wonderful try. Man. But are you referring to the not last night's show? No, you did a great job. How did you sleep after that? Cause I could tell. I could tell that you might have had a beer or two. Oh, I had like about seven beers throughout the show. Here's. But that's not as bad as it sounds cause the spread over seven hours. Here's. I'm sorry. Four hours. The best. Seven beers, four hours. For me is I knew how excited you were to do this show. I was out of my mind. So excited to do it. I know. And I texted you, you know, good luck. Woo hoo. I'm going to turn on the KCJJ stream and cook dinner. Blah, blah, blah. And you texted me back. Yay. Yay. And then you followed it up with another text. I'm really going to scream. Yeah. And I did. For about the first 25, 30 minutes I screamed. Well, all I could picture is, is in my mind is you like down here in your basement, like standing in front of the couch, just going, yes. Oh. Wow. Okay. Woo hoo. I should have been clearer. Yeah. I wasn't just going to scream. I wasn't like at a Beatles concert. What I meant is I was going to really inject a lot of energy when I talked over the music. I wasn't. Well, that's, that's exactly what I wrote back. Okay. I know you're excited, but I'm really going to scream is about as girly as 500 preteens at the British invasion. Yeah. So I, just to be clear. Yeah. That's, I, I didn't mean it like that, but that's what that, like when you wrote it to me, I was like, I could, I could picture you with like your little, your little Rob sausage hands, like clenched and you're like standing in front of your, your little broadcast headquarters here and you're like getting ready to go on the air and you're just standing there and you're just pumping your fist and you're going, yeah. Like an excited, and an excited toddler. Yeah. Just pumping my fist. I don't know what else to do. Well, that's not what happened, but I will tell you this. That's what I thought was, was like
