It's the Mike O'Meara Show Oscar, I'm no sportsman No sportsman But I do believe it is week 8 of the NFL this week Week 8 And as we look at the NFC East, the Redskins after a huge winning streak Four games in a row They just lost Yes, lost a game and find themselves tied for last in their division And it's a bad mood around town It's a bad mood for Redskins fans around the country Actually, it's even a bad mood in the sky Whoa Yes, joining us to comment Former owner of your Washington Redskins Jack Kent Cook Jack! I can almost see him It's a bandwidth issue up there Yeah He's forming I see a hat I see a hat And I see glasses Jack What have I been What have I been telling you? What have I been telling you? Don't play the theme song when I'm playing my angels music for Christ's sake How are you? You didn't own the angels You own the Redskins I own the Los Angeles Kings Yes, you did Hockey League I am so happy to be here Let's go Redskins Now do you have the NFL Sunday ticket up there? Bloody hell I do I watch them I will be watching the Redskins although under protest This is an American game This is an American game and perhaps a Canadian game It is not a European game Quick sidebar, Jack if you don't mind And you're Canadian, by the way People should know I don't think we need to have a football contest for a bunch of pastry eaters Do you have the same issues with the dish that we do here on Terrestrial? No, as a matter of fact Well, it sounds like a song title, Oscar But there is no rain in heaven There is no rain It's not like you will obscure your signal from the satellite with a passing thundershower But you live It won't happen, man It can't It's impossible But you live in clouds like in a Three Stooges short at the end, right? That's right I'm up there You're down there Do the clouds ever get in the way? Let me rephrase that I'm up here You're down there No interference But I want to get back to the reason I dropped by Please First of all Jay Gruden Whoa Your ass is on the line As far as I'm concerned I don't believe that Napa-tism is a proper way to go about hiring a head coach It's not like I told Mr. George Allen Bring your bring your little brother along I don't want that What I want to see is coaches that can stand on their two feet Vince Lombardi didn't have a brother tagging along Ted Lombardi? Ted Lombardi Ted Lombardi You didn't you didn't have all Tech Schramm didn't have the little Schramm brothers with the Dallas Cowboys organization What about Tom Landry didn't have a fleet of cousins staffing the managerial office It didn't happen So I don't understand why it was necessary for the man with the tiny hands online and I'm not talking about Donald Trump Hey Daniel Snyder with his little baby ass Do you still call him Squirt? Squirt Boy Let me speak to him directly Dan Snyder This is Jack Kent Cook Hey Boy What are you doing hiring the brother of a broadcaster? Your brother was the real coach You're not Jay That's the way I just wanted to say You've got Jay and John John is the coach Jay is the one Mike We wanted I'm sorry Jack Jack Hello Oscar I'm up here Hold on Let me do that again Jack Yes We wanted Janet We got Latoya Yeah That's exactly right And what is the process of having the National Football League a fine organization taking the reins and bringing football to London They may be good at crumpets but they're not good at football and by God I don't believe in bringing all of our teams over the expense the jet fuel alone I if now if you could stock those airplanes in their fuel tanks with vinegar or Windex then it might be worth the expense but I don't believe Oscar probably doesn't know about that that even at the height of your riches that's correct that you would make people wash windows at your house with vinegar that's right newspaper and vinegar works just as well as expensive paper towels and some of those blue food coloring cleaning products I would not have it in my estate and may I take a moment to say hello to an old friend Tommy Giacomo oh over at the Palm from the Palm restaurant yes always like to keep him out front when we do one of these aging impressions just in case Mr. O'Meara might happen to be in town driving through next Friday evening and is looking for a late night dinner thank you Tommy Giacomo I'll take booth three if you please power table power table now did you ever use vinegar and newspaper to wash the car that Marlena drove around Georgetown sitting on the hood Marlena loved to drive the fast sports cars and I would have nothing of it I had my chauffeur he would wash the car with vinegar and newspaper and the windows and that was my limousine thank you very much what would Marlena wash with she probably could use some vinegar that's a fond memory as a matter of fact some of my greatest moments with Marlena involved water oh yes indeed he do there was nothing like that hot Latin spicy tamale taking a shower or a bath or recreating by the pool she was gorgeous poolside but she had a fierce temper that's why she jumped on the hood of that man's car now when you would see her by the pool would you still be wearing your big woolen inspector clusso hat yes and I loved tweed there's nothing I liked more than tweed but may I get back to the point at hand I wish you would there's no reason for the NFL to be playing games in London next thing you know for god's sakes we'll be blaspheming the whole league and having a contest in France that's a glad I will not stand for that Mr. Cook with all due respect to the global economy now I don't care this is an American game the National Football League it's not the International Football League if you want to go on the soccer pitch and by the way we have a gridiron they have a pitch need I say more we were the dominant force in World War II and we don't need to play football over there for a bunch of Bobby Cops Mr. Cook speaking of pitch do you have a take on the Cubs in the World Series yes I do I just want to say I hobnob with many of the original Cubs fans now that I'm up here in heaven can you define hobnobbing because I think a lot of our listeners don't know what it is to hobnob well to be perfectly honest with you he didn't have the reverb the other day but he's a close personal friend of mine he's standing next to me right now who hi there it's great to be here I just thought we might not have any more opportunities so I'm standing next to JKC what a great guy and he wanted me to say hello to all the Cubbies fans hi Rob do you ever get your glasses mixed up with Jack's glasses because they're both very big I don't think the I believe the glasses bit has been a little overdone at my restaurant when they show the people with the artificially large glass and as far as Will Farrell is concerned can I make this statement please I don't believe that Will Farrell's a good impressionist I don't think he did a good job with me and my hair was never unkempt the way he has it it was perfectly quaffed now the glasses are a different story I know I know I have large glasses he's an a-hole well I was going to say you know the word on the street is the problem with Will Farrell is that he's a dick that's what I've heard I'm here to back that up let me give it back to Jack thank you Harry has it a fantastic individual wow don't you wish you had him in the booth instead of Mark Kessler Mark Kessler that was not my decision that was Squirt Squirt made that decision he was the little guy now I've got to talk about Redskins football if I please tied for last man a sad I'm sorry people get over the fantasy of Kirk Cousins leading the burgundy and gold to a national championship it's just not going to happen so they've got the wrong guy at quarterback they've got the wrong guy at quarterback and while he is at the helm they will never win a Super Bowl as a matter of fact the likelihood of Kirk Cousins carrying the Lombardi trophy is about as likely as me getting married for another run that's not going to happen and do you know why why I'll tell you why because I'm dead it's the Mike O'Mara Show you can listen to the Mike O'Mara Show at www.mike o'Mara show.com stay tuned for an outstanding entertainment program it's the Mike O'Mara Show on the
