But I just can't stop myself.

I'm giving out my phone number to a little lady in the pharmacy line

so I can go on a grocery run for her next Tuesday.

I hate not having a filter for friendly.

Oh, that's not good. Well, can we start the show and then maybe we can discuss this? All right. Well, very good. It is the cake and the cookies. First episode of the calendar year 2016. It has been a while. A hot minute, as it were. If you are still with us and listening, we do appreciate it. Episode number 63 of the show that dares to show you that, in comparison, your life isn't so bad. I think our sporadic nature of the show might even prove. What? It might even prove that things get crazy. They do. I mean, we're not immune to all that stuff. And also, we probably should have been, as we roll right now, it is 6.58 on Monday night. We probably could have been posted right now if we hadn't just talked about cough drops for 80 minutes. That's true. I mean, we really did. I really think we could do an entire show based on throat lozenges. See, and I didn't even bring it up because you were on a roll. I love Ricola. I don't like the Ricola. But, oh, you know what I do love? Sucrets. Sucrets in the metal box? In the tin. Yes. In the tin. You know what's great for those tins after you finish the sucrets? No. You can keep your pot in there. And then you put it on top of your refrigerator. Well, mostly I keep it in a bowl. But I'm just saying, if you're a marijuana enthusiast, on the go. On the go. You can't be carrying a bowl of pot around. A bowl of sticky. Fantastic. Sticky icky. It's a fantastic container. What you need is a sucrets box full of jazz cigarettes. Do you think the same people that make sucrets boxes make Altoid boxes? Oh, they've got a corner on the small. You know who makes it? Big tin. This powerful industry of big tin. And Mr. Altoid calls up. Big Pharma is mad. They're like, why didn't we think of that? They would love. Big Pharma and Big Sugar and Big Citrus would all like to have an in at big tin. Because meanwhile, all they've got are people with very tiny hands just assembling tiny boxes. And that's what they do. That's what they do. And that is the first topic. They had to get tinier people when they started making the Altoid minis. Really small people. Really tiny. They brought them in from Lumpaland. They did. So, I know that's one of many topics that we plan to discuss today. True story. Well, you know, it is really the best time of year for tins because holiday baking has just completed. I still have a few tins around the house. I got a tin of Walker's shortbread. A tin of Dude Walker's shortbread. Yeah. I got a neat tin of Christmas cookies. It's tall and round. I saw it. I ate one of the cookies. Oh. Remember, you said, would you like a cookie? And then, I think you really liked the cookies. I did. Because when we were visiting you, you offered them up. And then I think you thought, oh my God, I just offered cookies to the Speedwax. These cookies are going to be gone in an instant. I haven't had any since you guys left. There's still like the second package in the thing. But, you know, because there's me and Carrie and we're not shy eaters and the kids are like, you know, locusts. And so, here's what happened is you pulled out the tin and you said, hey, would you like some cookies? They're not very good. I don't think they're very good. That's why I haven't. I mean, they're fine. But they're, what, like shortbread cookies? It's not my bag. I believe they are. They're not horribly sweet. No. The shortbread is really just a very convenient butter delivery system. Or a vehicle for tea dipping. Great with tea. But I also like with tea ginger snaps. Oh, that's delicious. That's a good mix. I love a ginger snap. What's your favorite cookie? My favorite cookie? I'm talking to her. Hey. Wacky wacky. He's cake. She's cookies. It's Rob and Katie. No, I think probably, we've discussed this actually. I think so. All told, it's my mom's cinnamon oatmeal cookie with raisin. But I like, if it's box cookies, hard to beat ginger snaps. I do love them. I really like them. Box cookies, I'll definitely go the way of the ginger snap. That almost sounds biblical, you know. What happened to Katie? These cookies were so boxed. No, Katie went. No, no, no. What happened to Katie? She went the way of the ginger snap. Do you remember soft batch? She went the way of the ginger snap. Yes, I do. They came in bags. Yes. Sometimes twice. And they were like softer chocolate chip cookies. Or other kinds. I liked those. Sure. Well, you know, with your history of your teeth, I suppose soft cookies are probably your go-to. I don't really, I'm not really a sweet person. No, a person who likes sweets. You're very sweet as far as people go. It gets me in trouble all the time. That was discussed in your hateful thought just this very day. It's true. Did you really run into a lady in the store and you're going to go get groceries? You could, though. You see, I would buy into that. I would think you would do that. It was, it's the same thing as like, I did not watch Three Sons for Sister Sarah or. Three Mules for Sister Sarah. Three Mules. Yeah, Three Sons. That's a horrible trade. It's the Sons of Katie Elder. That's right. But all John Wayne movies. And I don't think the Three Mules for Sister Sarah is a John Wayne movie. I think that's a Clint Eastwood movie. Well, okay. It's a Western though. Mm-hmm. So, and you're not a fan. You're not a big Western type. Well, anyway. I like, I like, like Tombstone. I like the. The modern Western. Mm-hmm. The modern Western. Yeah, but you would not sit down and watch Stagecoach. No. Which in fact is much more than a Western, but a grand character study. I might watch Oklahoma. Well, that's a musical. Musical Western. Yes. Oh, all the great musical Westerns like Oklahoma. Annie, get your gun. Annie, get your gun. What's the one? Paint Your Wagon, I believe. Is that not a musical Western? That is, yes. Yes. Yeah. Well, we could watch all of those another time, but that's not why we're here today. Today, we're here to talk about throat lozenges. Yes. No, not really. This is our first time back, and we actually had a tough time getting started because we haven't done this in a long time. December 8th, I believe, was the last time we had a show. That's about right. That's about right. That was episode 62. Here we are at episode 63. And we actually had a lot. We have a lot to discuss. It's one of those things where we have so much to discuss, we almost don't know where to begin. That's absolutely true. But- How was your Christmas? Christmas was spectacular. Okay. It was so much fun. So you had a good Christmas. Mine was quiet. And then you all came down for New Year's. Let's just start there. I think that's the best place to start. I could talk about going to see the Star Wars movie, which, by the way, is fantastic. Have you seen it yet? Nope. No, I went with Jabril. He got rice in his nose. Excuse me? Well, we discussed this briefly on the Mike O'Mara show, but after- I want you to put yourself in the frame of mind of the week before Christmas when Chipotle was in the paper every day. Right. Because of all their disease. Right. E. coli. After we went and saw the new Star Wars downtown at the Uptown Theater on Connecticut Avenue, I asked Robert and his friend Jabril, my other son, I said, where do you want to go for lunch? And they said, we want to go to Chipotle. Why? Why? I don't know. And I said, do you really? I mean, there's a million great restaurants all walking distance. It's a great region of the city. There's everything you could possibly want right there on Connecticut Avenue. And they want to go to Chipotle. So we went. And to be fair, there was no line. I have to give them that. And so we got amazingly fast service. And about six or seven minutes into lunch, I looked at Jabril and he had a weird look on his face. I said, buddy, is everything okay? He says, Mr. Rob, it's kind of embarrassing. I said, what's the matter? He says, I think I have rice in my nose. No! How? How? The magic of Jabril. It was one of my Christmas miracles. And it was. And you know what? Here's the thing that's so great. It's not, I have rice in my nose. It's, I think I have rice in my nose. Not positive. No. I mean, we're going to have to send in a squadron to find out. Turned out he did have rice in his nose. How? I don't know. I think it boils down to this. I think he and Robert were discussing the best way to eat a burrito. And you know, the Chipotle burritos are big. Yes. Did he just shove the whole thing in his face? I think he was going for a method where he was eating it like a corn cob. Oh no! That's not how you eat a burrito. Wait a minute. That might be the smart way to eat a burrito. Well, not if you don't want rice in your nose. Because that's what happened. That's true. But if you don't want all the tortilla bits at the end. Yeah. By the way. That might be the method.
