Carrie has been in Florida for two days, but do you know what happened the first night?

No.

Linus, in addition to his normal pacing, when it got really late, he took all his toys and put them in a pile in the middle of the room,

and then he sat and stared at the window all night.

I wrote this to Carrie in a text, and she says,

Saddest text ever.

Yeah!

Why did he stack his toys up?

I don't know.

In his little walnut-sized brain.

It made sense!

He missed his mom, so he put all of his little toys in the middle of the room.

He got his blanket, he got his rope.

Everything that he likes except for his mom.

Fofur, he put faux fur there.

Oh, man.

So that's what he's been up to.

Oh, poor Linus!

He slept with me last night, but he was distant.

Emotionally distant.

Wait, wait, wait, wait.

Was he facing the door?

Yes!

Mm-hmm.

Well, he wanted Carrie to be home.

He wanted her to walk in.

Judd does that.

Are you ready?

I need a minute!

My furry child? He's gonna have a tough day this week, what with Halloween. Lots of doorbellage. Oh, because you're the worst person ever and you make the kids ring the doorbell. Yes, I do! Yeah, we're not doing that because I can't handle the insanity and Presley's howling. No. Dan and I are sitting out front in lawn chairs. I am allowing for 60, 6-0 trick-or-treaters. And I will give away the candy. I bought several varieties. I will give them away. I'll start with what I like the least. So if I get left with anything, it'll be the stuff I like the best. I think there's a chance we'll have more than that. We need to discuss this on our show. All right, then let's begin the show. Mike O'Mara Radio Entertainment. Hey there. This is Katie with a very hateful thought of the day. I hate the end of the week brain fry. Everybody has had it. One of those Fridays where you've thought and worked so hard that even the most simple task can reduce you to fluff. See, even like this. A simple, hey, how are you? Can spark a blank and panic response of, I honestly don't know. Ask me what's for dinner and oh my God. I know I planned this out, but for the love of all that is holy, please don't ask me to remember. End of the week brain fry is why pizza is so popular on Fridays. Movies are encouraged too because nobody has to speak. I hate brain fry Fridays. And you, I hate you too. I like that one. Did you? Yeah, it was good. I was concerned. Let's take a side, please. You've had a day. I've had a week. Yeah, you have. Very. I just can't think anymore. You know who I hope had a good week? Dude. Mr. Walker. Cake and cookies. Rob and Katie. It's the Rob and Katie Show. Do you know what episode? 61? Exactly. Boom! Not only is it our episode number, it is a Billy Crystal movie and it is where we are right now. 61. Baseball movie. Are you sure? Yeah. Yeah. It was about Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle. Okay. You know Mickey Mantle. He hangs out over the fireplace. Let me hold your stocking. That's right. You can put microphones on me. Hi. It is Cake and Cookies, episode number 61, a bi-weekly, semi-weekly, usually more than months a month podcast that shows by way of comparison that your wife is not so bad. I said wife, but I meant life. And my wife is great. Hey, Rob. One of the best. Am I your work wife? Yeah, I guess you are. Because if it's not you, it's Oscar. And I don't find him attractive at all. Oh, no, no. He's not my wife. I think you're... No, I'm still your sister. Yeah, I suppose you are. I know. And I'm okay with that. Oscar's your wife. Yeah, Oscar's my work wife. I know. And who's Mike? Wait, no. It's not Pony. No. He's my side... Definitely Oscar. Oscar is your work wife. Pony's my side piece. He's my chippy. Oh. Because I don't spend a lot of time with him, but when I do, I really enjoy it. You don't... Wouldn't... Okay, there's a few questions in this. I got no problem with answering questions. Go ahead. Friday brain fry. Right on. Right here. Okay, so don't you spend pretty much an equal amount of time with Oscar as you do with Matt? Yes, but if it's a work wife, the amount of time that I'm working is when I'm on the air. And I spend more time on the air with Oscar than I do with Pony. Because Matt does not speak. Oh, Matt is Pony for those of you who don't know. That's right. I'm sorry. Matthew Ponyboy Bloom. So then what is Mike O'Mara? Is he my work ex-wife? He's the patriarch. Well, no, because... No, it has to be. Hey, there's your promo. It has to be. It doesn't make sense because, you know, then Oscar is not... Oscar is a powerful being as well. So he can't be... He like... And if Pony is the guy I'm having my work affair with... How would Mike not be the patriarch? Well, because you've made everyone else girls. So maybe Mike is the matriarch? Because... But you're still... Okay, so if Oscar is the wife, then you're the husband. Unless everyone is lesbians, which I'm fine with that. I'd buy that movie. So I guess... Okay, so Mike is the patriarch. Oscar's the wife. I'm the husband. Right. Pony's the side piece. The chippy. And you are my sister. Yes. And Carrie is my actual wife. Correct. And Linus is my furry son. Oh, I love him so much. He's despondent. He's very sad. And he'll be better tonight, which is good. People will be shocked to know how much and how sincerely I talk to him when he's in a bad time. Like, it started way before Carrie left. I have to tell you, I think you're wrong. I talk to my dogs as if they... We have serious conversations. I said on, like, Tuesday or Monday of this week, I said, buddy, mom's going to go away. And he tilts his head. I said, it's only going to be for a couple days. She's going to go see your dad. And then she's coming back. And he tilts his head the other way. And I said, but while she's gone, you know, it's going to be you and me. And you got to know the reason she's gone. It's nothing you did. And I'm really... Now I'm starting to, like... He doesn't even have a chance to feel guilty or remorse. And I'm trying to diffuse that for him. And I realize, oh, yeah, he doesn't really speak English. I mean, we don't know what they can understand. I read this somewhere and I do it. I always wink back to him if he winks at me, just in case he knows. It's true. Have you ever... Has a dog ever looked at you and winked? Obviously, it's probably because he got a fleck of dust or something in his eye. Yeah, I don't think so. And, well, Linus winks. And when he does, I wink back at him. As if we have some sort of understanding. You do. I do. So that's what I do with him. Of course you do. So that's good. That's good? That's good. I'll tell you what's not good. What? I hate my rental car. No, wait, wait, wait, wait. We need to go back to... Okay, so Carrie's out of town. She'll be back before this episode is done. As we record on 30 October 2015. So I know you explained it to him. Right. How has he taken it? Well, not well. As you'll probably have heard in what I leave at the beginning of the show, he has stacked up his toys. He has spent inordinate hours staring out the window. You see, you should know that we have windows in the front of our house with shutters that one of them, the shutters are open and pushed to it is the big ottoman. And the big ottoman... Oh, the Elvis stand-up isn't there anymore? No, that's in Julia's room now. That was just a bit for a few... What? The Elvis is up in Julia's room. But not looking out the window, just hanging out. I think she took the... Isn't it time for you to go to bed? I think... But she took the backing, the stand-up thing off, and I think he's just on the wall now. Oh, okay. As opposed to his son-in-law, Michael Jackson, who was off the wall. Elvis is on the wall. So the shutters in the main room, our family room, our living room that no one ever sits in, the shutters are open. And then there is the big ottoman that went with the chair and a half. I mean, this is a big ottoman. It's probably four feet by three feet. Oh, that's a big ottoman. That's why we call it the big ottoman. Okay. And so, I mean, this thing would have killed Dick Van Dyke. So that is pushed against the wall where the window is, and its only purpose is to elevate his bed, his doggy bed, to... So he can sit on the doggy bed and stare out the window and bark when people come by. Oh, kind of like Judd and Presley on the... The couch. ...love seat in my office. Right. I didn't realize it was small. I was picturing a couch, but it's a love seat. It is a love seat. They sit on the top of the love seat. They stick their little heads out, and they go crazy if someone is on their street. He'll bark at anybody, and what I do love is when I come home at the end of the day, end of the day, what, lunchtime, when I'm done working, and he's... Your day starts a lot earlier than most other people. It does, and also know that when I get home, really, my day has just begun, because there's still stuff to be done. I know. I understand that. But I get home, and I look up, and there's his perfect, boxy, puppy face framed in the windowpane, and he's barking, but I can't hear him barking. So, you just see him going... Almost like he's yelling to me. I could dub in the word, hey! The silent scream. Yeah. It's like where they open their mouth, and they're like... Exactly. If I filmed it, I could dub in, hey, Rob. Hey, Rob. He could just be yelling words to me. Wait, wait, wait. Does he call you Rob, or does he call you Dad? I'm sure he calls me Dad. Okay. But Rob would probably fit the lip movement better. I feel better if he calls you Dad, though. Okay. Hey! I don't know why. How about, hey, Papa? Papa? Papa? Oh, capital. It's Papa. It's minus English. So, then, as soon as the garage door opens... Does he have a right, proper accent? He's from the bad side of Beagle Town. So, he's calling me. So, then... So, then... Hey! Papa! Hey, Dad! So, he's... Hey! He opens... No, he doesn't. Last March! Right! So, I see him up there, and as soon as...
