I just realized I have exactly zero moving supplies.

First big move?

Yep.

Been there.

Rented a truck, scrounged up boxes, bribed people with pizza, still lost a chair, strained my back, and my friendships.

So I should hire a pro because I don't know what I'm doing.

That's why I used Mayflower.

Walked me through everything.

Had a move coordinator, real movers.

That sounds very adult.

Mayflower made my first big move exciting instead of terrifying.

Sometimes when you tell me things that you do and you're so serious about it, I can't help but laugh at you. You are absolutely killing me. Do you remember that episode of Bewitched? Stop it. Everyone does. No, Rob. There were two Darrens. It was a fun Darren. And a work Darren. And a work Darren. You told me, but I didn't remember. All right, but listen. So listen, I'm doing this digitalization of Abbott and Costello and it includes a episode, a episode of their radio show, an episode of their radio show from like the 1944 era, I think. And one of the guests is a lady and she sings Besame Mucho because it was like a hit record. Oh! So now all of a sudden I've become quite important. But just for a moment. And you know what? It wasn't all of a sudden and it wasn't that important. All right. Are you ready? I dare not. But can we begin? Yes. All right. Then let's begin. Mike O'Meara, Radio Entertainment. Hey there. This is Katie with a very hateful thought of the day. I hate having to decide when to switch from sandals to shoes. There is inevitably a solid 30 days of waffling back and forth. To shoe or not to shoe. And what's the decision to shoe? Where the heck are my socks? And heaven forbid you have to go to a party. Hold it. Did you say party? I did. Hey Rob. What kind of shoes does a frog wear? What? Open toes. Ah. Hey Katie. Why don't grizzlies wear shoes? Why? Because they have bare feet. Seems early for a party. I hate wearing shoes. And you. I hate you too. No one saw that coming. I didn't even see it coming. There was trickery afoot. Trickery. Hey, here's a man who is not a stranger to trickery. It's Mr. Dude Walker. Cake and cookies. Rob and Katie. It's the Rob and Katie Show. His hand is in my current Facebook status photo. Honestly, I did not know where you were going with that. No, I cropped him out of a photo. Where's his other hand? I think you know. It's Cake and Cookies. The Rob and Katie Show. Episode number six zero. A weekly podcast to show by way of comparison that your life isn't that bad. Our thanks, as always, to Mike O'Mara, Oscar Fantana, and everyone at More Broadcasting like Tony Bloom. Check us out on Facebook at facebook.com slash rob and Katie. Our Twitter, at rob and Katie. I live on Twitter. I know you do. I believe. I believe. You just tweet, tweet, and tweet. I believe our last tweet that we posted was, Dewey defeats Truman. It was not only incorrect, it was a long time ago. Katie, remember that bewitched episode? Really? It's great to have friends like you. We're friends? Yes, we're acquaintances. Okay. That's what we are. You can find us on iTunes. The best thing to do is you can search cake ampersand cookies or just search More Broadcasting. You can find the Mike O'Mara Show, Tony Perkins Show featuring Gary Stein, Tech 411, Robin Joe, and O'MaraCast. So please check that out and give us a five-star rating because it makes us feel great. Super duper. I could use a little feeling great because I had myself an afternoon with the wife that I really wanted to tell you about, and I've not told you about it yet. No, you've hinted at it. I do know that your cheeks are angry today, so I'm wondering perhaps you might have eaten something. No, no, no. It's nothing like that. And this is actually a week and a half ago, so this is not... If my cheeks are inflamed, it's because of your frequent mentionings of bewitched. That's the only thing that's doing it. Oh, you're angry? I'm also Skype as being a bitch. It is true. I'm not a fan. This is take four. It is take four. It changes its settings. You know what I got? I got a haunted Skyper. It's that time of year again. Polter Skype. I'm going to have to ask my neighbors if we get the Halloween traffic. Trick-or-treaters? Yeah. That was cute. Halloween traffic. I was failing at the words, but you knew what I meant. Well, you know, in Savannah, when you trick-or-treat, you just get a to-go cup. Here's little Johnny with a beer. It depends on which side of the Forsyth Park you are. Now, do you like the trick-or-treat thing? Do you like to entertain trick-or-treaters? Or are you more of a person that likes to participate in Halloween yourself? Oh, I hate to participate myself. Me too. I do. But I love trick-or-treaters. Okay. How do you handle them? Well, to be clear and to be fair, you're really not supposed to touch the children. No, I know that. Just give them a good shake. That's why the sign is in the yard, Katie. But the reason, no. I mean, how do you, like, when they come to the door? I like to talk to them. As do I. But you see, I think we do it for a different reason, I bet. I bet you're being social, but I'm making them entertain me. No, that's what I do. Really? Also, I don't make them come to the door. I like to sit out front in a lawn chair. Oh, you see, you're one of those. I am just, it's a parade. I love it. I think to earn the candy, they have to come to the door. Because you know what it is? There's a certain sense of foreboding when they have to come up to a mysterious house and ring the doorbell. Well, my big concern here, I did think about that. Because we do kind of have, like, the porch. Like, we could, the whole, it could be fun. Will you have a jack of lantern? Probably not. Do they have pumpkins in the south? Or do you, like, carve out a ham or something? I don't like to decorate seasonally. I don't suppose you would carve out a ham. That's more of a Virginia thing. It's more of a Virginia thing. Hey, you're in Georgia, carve out a peach. I could carve a peach. Just a little guy. Right. When they ring the doorbell, though, they fall from the ceiling. And that's always kind of weird. I don't know if I'm ever going to get used to that part. Well, you know, we're all, I want you to know we're all hoping for you. So, I like the little ones. Yes. And they come up and, you know, they're, like, they don't want to, because I like to make them choose their candy. Pick out your pieces. Okay. And for the little ones who look like maybe they just learned how to count, I'll say, how many is this? And then, like, make them pick out that many. Does that also work with some of your neighbors when they come over after they've been drinking? Well, yeah. How many drinks have you had? How many fingers do I have up? No, I think the best and most. I like the teenagers, too. I do, too, and I like to give them grief because, you know, they really shouldn't be out begging for candy. Right. But it's also, like, you can tell, okay, there's a difference between the ones that are just too old to be there. Right. And the ones that are kind of hanging on to being a kid. Yeah. Do you know? You know what I'm talking about. I know. I know. But I think my favorite question, and it works on all platforms, is it's a two-parter. Who are you dressed as? And then they have to tell you. I mean, that goes without. Of course you ask that. And then you say, what would that thing or person say? It's like, a little girl comes up. Trick or treat. And that's how they all talk in my neighborhood. Trick or treat. Because they're smokers. Trick or treat. I say, hi. What are you, little girl? I'm a princess. I say, oh. What do you think a princess would say if I were to meet a princess? And just blank face. It's because you're mean. It's because you're not friendly. I am friendly. Are you? Am I? No. See, and then there's the neighbor across the way. Gladys Kravitz. The one who likes to talk to you through the window. Right. She's a big. I had to run in or two with her. She's a big sit on the porch and hand out the candy type girl. You dare not. I'm just saying. I'm just saying what it is. I've got steps to my front door. And I think if I, and I hand out good candy. I hand out the full size bars. Oh, you got to hand out the full size. And I'm just saying if you earn that, you've got to climb the steps. And I don't, you don't want to meet them. I also prefer to have both chocolate and fruity type candies. Say Skittles. Or like sweet tarts. Also good. Kids love the tart candy. Not everyone is a chocolate person. Not everyone is a tart person. Robert hates chocolate. I don't know. If given the choice, I'm going for the sweet tarts. Given the choice, I'm going to go for the Snickers or the Reese's. I know, but you can't have the Reese's. Can't have them. No, no. But if I were to be issued the bad news, the doctor would say you have just days to live. Then I'd dive in with both feet. All the peanut butter I could eat. Okay. Then I'd say, take me now. Like the Costco size tub. Oh, just bring it. I miss peanut butter. Not even a regular spoon. A big wooden spoon. Yes. One like that you would see at Mount Vernon. Oh, even better. And a bag of chocolate chips. So you're going to dip into the jug of peanut butter. And then invert it. Right. Stick it on the chocolate chips so they like stick. And then you're, I'm going to die. This is so good. Meanwhile, Carrie's in the next room planning the funeral. Right. And as I eat more peanut butter and chocolate chips, sort of finalizing the list of the pallbearers for the stronger ones. Right. I'm sorry. I don't think. Katie can't do that. Now, Katie can speak, but she can't. She can't bear Paul. Do I get to speak? You want to? Um. My funeral comes up on this show an awful lot. So let's go ahead and plan it. Yeah. You know, if I die, I want you to give my eulogy. Oh, you're sweet. I'll do a nice one for you. But I think you and Aunt Jane need to like split the split the difference. I think you can share the stage. Of course. And you know what? What I'll do is we'll figure out she can do a more reverential one. I don't know. She's a funny, funny woman. That's true. Hmm. Yeah. Well, this is silly anyw
