You know, we really had every intention to record yesterday, but you had yourself a day. Well, actually, I had myself a day before it was even noon. Yeah. When you have the whole day ahead of us and you still called it, you were really, really up against it. I, things, I got up early, things happened quickly. Now, before we get to that, there's one question I must ask. If I were to walk into your kitchen right now and open up the faucet, would there be water? Oh, I forgot about that. Yes, we do have water. I completely forgot about the fact that, like, we did not have water for a day last week. Would it be possible for you to recreate the conversation that you had with young Dan when you realized that the water wasn't no more? I believe this was... And you know what? I'm not going to make this into a problem because, you know, the water has been cut off at the Spiwak house before, and it's never because of lack of want to pay the bill. We wanted to pay the bill. We just forgot. Those quarterly bills are the ones that are more of a pain in the butt than anything. Exactly. And if you could just pay it in advance, it would be better. Yeah, you know, I mean, why not pay it for the year? Right. Or 10 years? Right. So, and here's the thing. Some people, if you will recall, we had a power issue where Dan forgot to pay the power bill once last year. I recall. Right. And so the power was off for like 24 hours, not even, like 12. He couldn't even. You couldn't even use the electricity. Couldn't even. What if you wanted to use an electric mixer? Nope. A toaster? Uh-uh. Hair dryer? Not a chance. What about the stove? Was it a gas stove? Nada. Oh, daggers. Zippy. The whole power grid was felted. It was nubs. Luckily, you had your electricity. Right. But. So it was about, wasn't even nine o'clock in the morning. I think it was Wednesday. Sounds about right. And here's the thing is, is I had a migraine from Monday to Thursday. I had, it was bad. That's not a u-grain. That's a migraine. It's a migraine. Belongs to me. That's right. Right. And I was, I had moved into the, the, the, like family room. Cause it's darker in there than it is really anywhere else in the house. And because of its lower elevation, cooler. It was. Yep. Cooler and darker. So I had moved myself down in there and I was, I had like a pillow leaned up against my face, just to the light, the whole thing. And Dan walks in and clearly does not understand that this is not the time to be like cute. Now, how often do you get the migraine? Maybe three, four times a year. So he's known you and been with you through a few migraines. How is he not better at dealing with you during them? Well, it was early in the morning and I'd already had it for two days. So I think that he thought I was feeling better despite the fact that I had a pillow over my face. I see. Either that or you had a really bad attempt at suicide. Right. Holding a pillow over your own face never works. I don't like that joke, Rob. Okay. Then I withdraw it. Thank you. Maybe we just ran out of funny. Oh no. We're just like Chevy Chase. This is really bad for the remaining 62 minutes of this show. Oh man. Boo. So he comes in and he's like, hey Biebs. So when's the last time you paid the water bill? And I kind of moved the pillow off my face and I say, hey Biebs, you're the one that pays the water bill. And there's like a really pregnant pause right there. I mean, it's just a long pause and he goes, uh, are you sure? Yeah. Pretty sure. I think I actually said something like, I'm not sure of much right now, but I'm pretty sure of that one. Now, do you guys split it up and you pay some bills and he pays some bills? See, when the power went out last year, when Dan forgot to pay the power bill, a lot of people, um, like made a hubbub. Sure. A to-do. A brouhaha. A brouhaha. A brouhaha. That's a lot easier. Sure. Yeah, that's going to happen. Not going to happen. I love him too much. Even if he got my water turned off. You crazy kids. Look at you in love. I know. Look at us. All in love. Blech. I remember. With a hand gesture. Yeah. It's the hand gesture that first got him. Never mind. Oh. So, family friendly, Rob. It really is. Yes. Yeah. So, uh, we split up some, and we, I honestly, we should have left well enough alone. Mm-hmm. Should have left it the way that it was. So, we split up the utilities instead of one of us pays all the utilities and the other one, like, pays the mortgage. Or we should have just. Does he pay electricity and waterworks? No. I pay electricity. Okay. So, do you roll the dice and multiply it by four? And he thought that because I, I pay electricity and, like, a couple other things, he, for some reason in his head, thought that I also paid the water bill. Yeah. Let's call it waterworks from now on as we keep on with the monopoly sort of symbolism. Okay, waterworks. Well, I will say the garbage and recycling is included in the water bill. Well, that's good. Yeah. So, what utilities do you have left after that? Uh, electricity. Yes. Gas. I suppose, is that everything? Well, what do you, what do you run on gas? Our, like, heat. Oh, okay. All right. All right. Very good. So, there's a waterworks, electricity, like, there's electric company. Cable. That's right. Community Chest. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Atlantic Avenue. Baltic. And, of course, all four railroads. But, you know, a lot of people that are shaking their heads and shrugging right now, at the beginning of our marriage, Carrie and I split up the bills as well. And it just seemed to make sense. We were both making a minuscule amount of money. And it seemed to work where we would each pay part. But. That would be us. As Carrie began to realize my utter lack of expertise at anything financial, all the responsibilities have been removed from me. As a matter of fact, we got a call this week from the PTA, and they said, we got your application for the PTA. I said, fantastic. They said, there was no check attached. I said, oh, okay. Well, you're going to need to talk to my wife about that because she handles all things financial. And she said, everything? I said, it has taken nearly 20 years, but all financial responsibilities have been removed from me. And I fear that if I were to write this check to you today, I would undo 20 years of hard work. And there's a pause because I don't know this woman. You don't know her? No. And I just explained this to her. She might have caught me after a glass of wine, like about a six o'clock call, you know. Or this is not your father's root beer. Yeah, maybe, maybe. And so I went through that whole little spiel and there's silence. And then I hear, well, well, says she, we wouldn't want to undo 20 years of hard work. I said, right you are. Call my wife tomorrow at this number. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. So that's how that goes. So I understand the separate. Do you think eventually one of you will take over all billing? Here's the thing. Yeah. Dan probably does not deserve the responsibility. Well, you don't deserve it. Just wait. I do not want the responsibility. Do you think if you were to give it to him, it would be like some sort of reward? No. No, no, no, no, no. It's a curse. He doesn't deserve it because clearly we've already, since in less than a year, we have gone a day without power. Yes. And a day without water. Well, you know what? If you look at it percentage wise, that's really not bad. It's less than 1%. Okay. Even if you add them up. It's less than like 0.03%. Well, no, it's not. Because if you think about if a year is 365 days and it's like one third of 1% if you miss it because it's 356 days. So make it round it down to three. Listen, I'm not going to get bogged down in semantics. You're not allowed to even touch it. This is why it was taken away from me in the first place. Do you really think that you should be mathing to me right now? Mathing? Yep. That's what you're trying to do. You're trying to math at me
