It is the Rob and Katie Show, a weekly podcast to show by way of comparison that your life isn't that bad. Our thanks, as always, to Mike O'Mara. He's good. Oscar Santana, also good. And everybody at More Broadcasting, check us out on Facebook. We're there at facebook.com slash robandcate. Don't get Matt. Oh, Matt Bloom, everybody. But we're moving forward. There's so much to get to today. Very, very much. You can tweet us. Do people tweet? Yes. I've been tweeting up a storm. I'm sure you have. At Rob and Katie. And of course, find us on iTunes. And I don't think we got any new comments this week. And this saddens me. Because I like to get drunk and read them. We took a week off. We did. I mean, one thing to, you know, life kind of got in the way a little bit. Timing has never been our strong suit. For example, we used to be funny. And that is now working against us. We used up all our funny. Used up all our funny. We needed to recharge. And then we had the week off. And then you had your grandfather pass. I just didn't feel funny. And if you don't feel funny, you don't do the show. And so, folks, we appreciate your understanding, which I assume you're giving us. It's a big, fat assumption there. It is. It is. So, you know what? It is one thing that I don't like in letters when people say, thank you in advance for. Well, if I haven't given it to you yet, don't thank me just yet. Right. Thank me in advance for understanding. Do I understand? Do you? Do I? Don't I? I don't know. But thank you in advance for your understanding as we launch episode number 51. And I know you have plenty to talk about, but there's something I want to address. Is that the idea of cleaning a refrigerator is as foreign to my family as finding unicorns and riding them for sport or profit. Because it just is not something that happens in this house. Let me explain it. I, not only do I sympathize. Yes. Do you empathize? I empathize. Yes. Because there are a couple of things about Dan that I've learned over the years. And that's that there are two things that he has never cleaned in his life. Oh, dear. I hope none of them are attached to his body. Oh, no. Those are the. I don't expect it that hard. Those ears. Really, son. Fix them. Oh, gross. Oh. No. He's never cleaned a toilet. What? What? And he's never cleaned. With his issues? I know. Okay. This is. This is. I don't want to. This is not. This is. This is. This is. This is. This is. I understand. And this is not what this show is about. No. Because you get real hesitant to jump on this potty humor bandwagon. But I'll say this. As different as Dan and I are. And we are different. One slim. One stout. One fair. One dark. Wait, what? It's dark air. Oh, he does have dark air. Yeah. Mine. Graying. But still lighter. No one would know. that's the trick right there actually dan is coming in white on the side oh well be proud you're the one who caused it and uh oh no i no i claim that you proudly yeah okay good yeah good give him hell give him hell katie so oh one wears a hat one does not truth be told none fit me but still yeah i was waiting for you to say i was like if he doesn't say it i'm gonna say it the truth be told is your your head is you got it he got a giant ground it's massive so anyway uh that was sort of a greaseman transition anyway uh but as different as dan and i are we have similarities and that is intestinal distress at times yes um does he does he mine is called the uh the uh the uh the colitis is that what he has is that what it's called he has ulcerative ulcerative colitis that's what i have yes yes so yeah so i know what that's about and when you have when you bring the uc you see when you bring the uc to a relationship because everybody brings something to a relationship i forgot i forgot you called it the uc yeah the uc the ulcerative colitis i honestly i was like when you bring the uc no i'm trying to keep it you see yeah you're trying to be hip with your ulcerative colitis oh i'm the hippest guy that's been in the bathroom all morning ever so do you have a preferred bathroom yeah i like my i like the elvis bathroom okay now but for many reasons worry that you might die like him in there that'd be the only way we could get carried and call it the elvis bathroom and kids this is where your father passed away just like elvis see how the shower curtains ripped that's where he grabbed when he fell we leave it there as a tribute so katie back on track everybody brings something to a relationship sometimes it's a sense of humor sometimes it's a a dazzling personality but when you bring the uc to a relationship you should also bring a toilet brush because what you're doing is your uh you've got to uh take care of what you do finish what you start perhaps the best way to say it and he's never cleaned a toilet no wow not even didn't his folks make him do stuff i don't believe so did they have a cleaning woman did they have a cleaning robot like rosie i think her name was mom wow so he's never cleaned a toilet no do you want me to bring him in here we can we can discuss this well yeah but first what's well let's let's let's do one thing at a time okay but the answer is of course yes um so after that what else does he not clean a refrigerator see why is it so foreign to some people when we first got married there at one point i said all right i need to clean out the refrigerator and he looked at me like i was speaking a foreign language now to be fair when you found him he was a confirmed bachelor and if mostly what you keep in your fridge is beer you don't have to clean it very often unless a beer explodes they rob katie the the and i i'm using this term very loosely the gentleman yes dan lived with oh i hadn't thought of roommates i hadn't allowed for roommates i there's a story that dan's mom still tells yes about how um one of the gentlemen that was living in the house um that dan owned the house and he rented out other rooms of course and um they uh threw like an engagement party for him was he getting married yeah not dan the guy but yeah yeah yeah jeff and and there's a couple different jeffs in in dan's life so this is we'll just call him old jeff so old jeff we'll call him jeffy okay let's kind of know why that just works for me okay okay so jeffy is talking to sue and he's like yeah don't doesn't the house look good we worked so hard on it to you know really clean it up and sue just like dead pants and you've met sue and she's just like it was disgusting wow as bad as all that so there's just no understanding disgusting which makes you wonder how it must have been when they started right well i do have an idea of how it was when it once started because at one point sue and jill went over to dan's house while he wasn't there and they were like straightening up and cleaning some stuff and they go into his bedroom and it's like they don't they can't even tell what clothes are clean or what clothes are dirty now did they go to to dan's bedroom or julia's bedroom they go to dan's bedroom okay just checking the best part okay so they decide they're just gonna take everything and take all of his clothes everything all of his linens towels everything so they take everything it's a linen napkin what is that that's a linen napkin and then dan uh gets home and apparently they forgot to leave him anything so he could all his clothes were gone did he know that they had come or did he think that there had been some sort of sartorial bandit well clearly no one was gonna steal his crap big story jim vance says 1700 hats were stolen officers are looking for a guy can i tell you something really sweet about dan's looking for a thief that really likes the san francisco giants uh no what is sweet i like sweet sweet is nice dan's favorite hat is the one that that looks just absolutely horrible it's all like frayed on the on the bill you've seen it what's it afraid of it's afraid not it's like three different punch lines right there oh oh real quick real real quick it made this actually made both julia and robert laugh pause the thought of the favorite hat so helvetica and comic sans serif walk into a bar and the bartender says hey we don't serve your type now to be fair now there's like four yeah to be fair took robert that was a complete joke right now we're just telling punch lines to jokes we haven't told robert took longer to get it but once he got it he thought it was funny julia julia said that's not bad for a dad joke that's a ringing endorsement so he's got he's got the frayed hat all right and it's uh it's the bill of it is a little place it's it's distressed it almost looks like if you wanted to go out in the 90s and buy yourself a distressed hat because that was a fad and i'm guessing that probably was a fad in the 90s the worst decade of them all uh but that's the way it looks well the thing is is it's from when the giants won the world series in 2012 sure don't look at me yeah i'm not sure um and he got that hat so it's it's got like the right yeah yeah it says champions series champions or something like that it's a very high it's very important in baseball this world series but it's when we got presley and she was teething oh and so that's why that's why it's he's like well it you know it's the same year that or maybe it's the same year that they won and presley teething was you know cutting her teeth and that's my favorite hat well that's cool i know my mom has that is the most raunchy awful grungy looking hat i've ever seen but it doesn't smell or any
